About Us

Data Testing, Inc. is a third-generation privately owned corporation founded in the State of Arkansas in January 1966. The firm was begun in 1959 under the name of Fort Smith Testing Company by James D. Mickle to perform soils, concrete and asphalt testing. In January 1966, the firm name was changed to Data Testing, Inc. and was located at 1503 North “D” Street in Fort Smith, Arkansas. In October 1995, the firm moved our laboratory and office to our present location at 3434 Country Club Avenue in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Data Testing has been specializing in the analysis of soils, concrete, asphalt, water and wastewater since we first opened our doors, and we continue to improve and expand our offerings to best suite our clients. 

Over the years, our commercial testing laboratory has served municipal, industrial, and private enterprise clients throughout eastern Oklahoma and most parts of the state of Arkansas. 

Our staff has participated in projects including:

• Dams: Alma, James Fork, Lee Creek, Lake Fort Smith, Ozark, and various private)
• Landfills: Sallisaw, Fort Smith
• Airports: Fort Smith Municipal, Sallisaw Municipal, Russellville Municipal, Ebbing Air National Guard Base, Petite Jean State Park
• Industrial Plants: Hiram Walker, Planters Peanuts, Mars Petcare, Gerdau Mac Steel, Glatfelter
• Water and Wastewater plants: Alma, Booneville, Mansfield, Mulberry, Ozark, Roland, Van Buren, Fort Smith
• Educational: University of Arkansas Fort Smith, Arkansas Colleges of Health Education, Fort Smith Public Schools, and various other K-12 locations
